When thirteen-year-old Saoirse Kellough vanishes, fear sweeps through the tight-knit rural community. She isn’t the first girl to disappear in the forest, a place long whispered to be haunted, and the only witness is her younger brother, Jack, who refuses to say a word. Saoirse vanished while playing the Counting Game, a ritual meant to keep evil at bay, and Jack is determined to guard the forest’s secrets.
Freya Hemmings, a psychotherapist still grappling with her own grief, is brought in to help investigators reach Jack. As the desperate search for Saoirse intensifies, the Kellough family begins to fracture under the weight of suspicion and fear. Enter the GoodReads giveaway for Alias Tomorrow by Anthony Caplan. This novel blends a tense exploration of a world where advanced technology blurs reality with a deeply personal look at an American family’s inner struggles. It weaves together the story of writer William Morrow with the sweeping sci‑fi saga he’s creating, set on a Mars controlled by the authoritarian regime known as OneWorld.
As Morrow wrestles with questions of identity and his relationships with his wife and grown children, his fictional hero Antioch moves through a rigid, heavily monitored society. The book examines family dynamics, the search for meaning in an increasingly fragmented present, and a future where every small victory must be fought for against a system built to silence resistance.
Enter the GoodReads giveaway for Constellation Eden by Maria L. L. DeWillow. After their mother vanishes, Jeremy and Ruby Cohen begin to see that the comfort and privilege surrounding them are part of a carefully maintained illusion crafted by their father and the enigmatic power he serves.
Drawn into a circle of unusual allies, they set out across a post‑theocratic universe in search of the truth behind their shared lineage and emerging magical abilities, confronting distorted realities, deep loss, and the challenge of understanding who they are.
For a thousand years, technology has overshadowed practical magic, leaving modern witches unprepared as long‑dormant supernatural dangers rise again.

Enter the GoodReads giveaway for Mass Mothering by Sarah Bruni. A. is an amateur translator trying to survive alone in a harsh, late‑capitalist city. Still reeling from medical trauma and drowning in debt, she pays her bills by caring for a young boy who isn’t, and never could be, hers. At night, she escapes to the dance floor, searching for fleeting connection, where she meets N., a man as numb as she is and occasionally her companion.
Among N.’s few belongings, A. finds a slim book about a remote town where boys vanish without explanation. Field Notes records the voices of mothers who gather to grieve their missing sons, a collective lament that captivates A. with its raw power, resilience, and shared care. When a near‑assault jolts her out of her drifting life, she travels to the town where Field Notes originated, hoping to find its author and the truth behind his story. Instead, her search uncovers the remnants of a murdered poet, a mysterious woman whose life and legacy will entwine with A.’s in unexpected, transformative ways.
Enter the GoodReads giveaway for This Time Tomorrow by Emma Straub. Known for her warmth, wit, and sharp insight, Straub reimagines the classic time‑travel tale as an unexpected love story between a daughter and her father. On the night before her 40th birthday, Alice feels… fine. Her job is decent, her apartment suits her, her independence feels solid, and she treasures her best friend. Still, with her father’s health failing, she can’t shake the sense that something in her life is incomplete.
Then she wakes up in 1996, on her 16th birthday. The shock of being back in her teenage body is nothing compared to seeing her father again, vibrant and full of life in his forties. With this new vantage point on both her past and her present, Alice begins to see old moments in a different light. And as she moves between who she was and who she’s become, she’s forced to consider what, if anything, she would change if given the chance.
